The High School Years

All about going to two high schools, and the adventures that ensued, from 1994-1998. No media yet from '94... so '95 to '98 is there.

Sophomore year, '95. Dad said he'd whoop me if I didn't use hairspray for school pictures, so... spritz spritz, there. It stayed parted... till afterwards, anyway. Joined band but had to quit at band camp. Grades really kicked my ass anyway, and I planned to make a comeback the next year.

Junior year, '96. Finally in band, finally in the drumline. Still hating hairspray.

South Cobb High School Drumline, 1996. Top row: Bassline. Carl (1st), Joseph (4th), Jarrett (2nd), Michael (5th) and myself (3rd). Section leaders Lisa and Robyn at bottom.

Model UN. We pretended to be ambassadors/leaders of another country and outsmart other kids from other high schools at the final competition at Kennesaw University. Very fun. The ultimate club for master BS'rs.

Senior year, class of 1998. Quite possibly the most difficult year of high school, and for band, for alot of reasons. Section leader brawls, soap opera dramas, you name it, we had it. And I ain't just talkin' about band.

Ahh, nothing like practicing during band class! Joseph, Russell, tenors... snares Patrick, Kevin, and Nate... Basses, myself, Jarrett, Robert, and Mike.

South Cobb High School Drumline, 1997. Section leaders Micheal and myself at bottom. New uniforms. Motto that year was "New look, new style, new attitude." Oh yes.

Dan Detweiler, band director for South Cobb (and Blue Devils alumni) probably about to kick the bassline's @%&. Major inspiration to alot of people, including myself. He's the man.

Leadership group, '97-'98. Guard captains Melanie and Brooke at top. Myself (drumline) in second row, far left. Michael is below me to the left. Drum majors at bottom.

My band picture. Bassline is where it's at... I quit snareline to do bass again... that's how fun it was. We had a neat book too.
